Removing the carpet.

Didn't know where else to post this.. I have an 04 coupe

Has anyone removed the carpet before? There's certain obvious things I know like you have to remove the seats, center console, door sills, kick panels and rear quarter panels..

It looks like there's a piece up by the footwells where it's connected in the middle. Do I have to cut it to get it out? Thanks for any insight.

Re: Removing the carpet.

looking at the parts diagram it looks like you just have to remove the parts you already mentioned. might be some velcro or some other fastener tucked in some awkward spot under the dash

Re: Removing the carpet.

I sometimes will cut areas that go over the front sections of the hump (tunnel...from shifter area to firewall) as long as it will be hidden by the console and trim when reassembled.

Re: Removing the carpet.

A little late but just in case you haven't gotten to it yet... When I replaced the carpet in my '04 sedan I did have to cut it in two places in the center, one under the console and one in front. Wasn't a problem, both areas are hidden.
