Small race days?
You guys seem to have small race days....
Here in the DC region we have 6 heats with up to 50 cars a piece (that is around 300 cars!!) If you aren't on the internet to register exactly at 8pm you are screwed.
You guys talk about placed 6 out of 8 or 5 out of 10 in STS. I am racing against 20 other people. Why are your areas so small?

DC= Big city with lots of suburbs
Fort Wayne= would qualify as a suburb, except the nearest thing that qualifies as a big city is 2 hours away.

We had our biggest event ever last weekend... a whole 127 cars.
Only reason we had so many is because it was a joint event with the Porsche Club (31 cars were theirs)
and I out ran EVERY SINGLE ONE!
we Average around 70 cars, reason being is that Las Vegas isnt really that big of a city, and Not many people know of Autocross.

Heh..I feel yer pain man. However...in my town...Denver... April 18th was the SECOND biggest Solo2 event in the NATION. Biggest was in Cali. with 309 drivers that showed up, we had 305. In STS alone there were 48 drivers. We ran 6 heats, from 8:30 am to 7:00 pm That's a LONG day, with registration from 6am to 8am...and believe me, there was a line 1/4 mile long ALL TWO HOURS. We have to PRE-register for the event, then show up and RE-register AT the event. It's a bitch, and I got there late, changed the tires JUST in time for the tech. guy to check it, and roll out. I didn't get to walk the course or anything. No maps were left over either, so I was HOSED. So...yeah...I'd KILL to be in a SMALL region like Zzyzx. 12 runs....mmmmmm...we got 3.
