Newbie Here !

Hello My name is Glenda...I own a 2002 Honda Civic Ex Coupe recently had an engine put in and the check engine light is on....When driving the car won't go past 4000 Rpms and once it reaches 60mph it starts jerking ...I pulled 3 codes


Codes are p1259 p0715 pO730 any and all help would be greatly appreciated...

Hello Glenda and welcome!

P1259: VTEC system malfunction.
P0715: Input shaft (mainshaft) speed sensor.
P0730: Shift control system.

The P1259 code would put the car in limp mode (rev limit of ~4k). For starters check oil level and condition and ensure it is full and clean. If you paid someone to put the engine in take it back and make them fix it. It's possible they installed a non VTEC engine which would cause the issue. The other two codes are auto transmission related, I'm no help there. Maybe they missed a connector or two.

@BrotatoChip is spot on with his statement. With regards to those codes, I'm sure hoping it's missed connectors, otherwise likely be a spendy fix.
