Traded my 97 Civic for 06' Civic!

I'm kinda sad now That old Civic did not give me one problem in the years that I owned it! I'm just kind of melancholy about what they're going to do with it because it had one ding on the bumper that was fixed with duct tape - but other than that, the engine was SOLID on that car! Sad to see it go - to a Hyundai dealership for a swap for my New Civic!

To be honest, I was pretty happy with the new Civic's advancements. The light up speedometer, fuel gauge, ability to raise the seats, CD player, bucket seats are pretty comfortable and first car E V A R that I've owner that has A/C for one and Cruise Control!!!! I find the fact that you can basically drive the car via the steering wheel (in cruise control) awesome! (Sorry, it's new to me!) And, three point seatbelts in all 5 positions adds to the interior's look!

It is a 2-door. However, what I would like to ask - as I was pretty bummed out to learn that it only has 140 HP - is that if there is anything to do to make this Automatic transmission car faster/more powerful??? I've read somewhere that if a Civic is not Manual, then it's useless to own one???

Is this true? Would one of those K&N air filters add any speed or help out with power? I just guess the novelty is starting to wear off and hit me that this car *might have* been a waste of $ to trade in???

Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Also, is it a VTEC and how would I find out!? Lastly, God is she sexy!!!!! Thanks!

Matt, Ontario.
