From a d17a1 non vtec to A2 with Vtec what all do I need to do to run the Vtec?

At the very least you're gonna need the head, cam (might want to consider upgrading to Crower Stage 1 cam (~10-15 additional HP) for an extra $400 since you're already in there) , ECU (computer), wiring harness, timing belt, head gasket kit. Here's one link to get you started:
