Hi and Help!

Hi,

I just joined this forum. I am a 65 year old female owner of a 2012 Honda Civic. It's a 4 door LX. I was a passenger in the car and I twisted the passenger side sun visor to block sunlight coming in the side window. The whole visor just came off. Oddly, nothing seems to be broken.

I tried to line up a grey plastic post wit the hole it seems to go into and reattach the visor, a three pronged white assembly doesn't seem to want to allow me. Any ideas on how to reattach. Any you tube you could point me to. BTW, I found you tube instructions for earlier models but not for 2012 and beyond.

Thanks in advance.

Re: Hi and Help!

If the visor fell out of the ceiling because the lock mechanism inadvertently released when it shouldn't have, it may need to be replaced.

Car is still fairly new, possible warranty matter?

There have been warranty issues with this, I got mine replaced for free a year or 2 ago for my 06. Pretty sad this still seems to be an issue. Complain at your local dealer and see what happens.

Those split at the seam and won't stay up tight against the ceiling.

These new ones can literally fall out of the roof when the latching system fails.

I've been checking them on brand new cars since about 2010 when we first found a brand new van with one visor dangling by the wires after someone moved it to cover a side window.
