hello to all

hi everyone. my name is joel, i have a 1995 civic dx coupe with a b16a1 swap......im actually having a issue with it right now as it wont start. when i turn the key to acc everything comes on like it should...but when i turn the key to the on postion none of my dash light come on like they should.....no fuel pump noise no anything......if i wiggle the key i can get the lights to come on and i hear the fuel pump but when i go to start the car all the lights go out the car fires but wont stay running.....ive run into this problem in the past with another vehicle and it turned out to be the ignition lock cylinder was bad. didnt know if i should go the same route as the part is less than 20 dollars or if anyone had a clue as to what it was being these cars can have multiple issues.........THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR ANY REPLY

Re: hello to all

thanks for the welcome and new info......i replaced the lock cylinder and everything seemed ok...but i found what i am assuming is the actual switch (white plastic with slotted center that turns) was turning back to far after i was turning the key. i drove it home from where it had broke down by holding another key in where the shaft would have gone and when i parked it it stayed on........tried turning the key a few more times and car and (switch) stayed on......only cut off when i turned it back. now as this part (switch) is connected to a wire harness and is only held in by two small screws it seems i would be able to find it and not have to replace the entire switch assembly...........one more thought is my sister in law has a 94 accord that the motor blew in......would that same piece be on it and if so should it work for my civic????
