Hey Guys,

I'm new to this site and Ive recently bought a 99 Civic Ex Coupe 5-Speed. It still has the standard Vtec Sohc engine in it. I'm currently modifying the Interior myself (much thanks to the D.I.Y posts).
So far I have:
1. Painted the interior door panel and e brake red and black
2. Changed the interior lighting to Blue LEDS.
3. Painted my rims black
4. Painted a Matrix Strut bar i bought Red ( as well as some other minor things in the engine bay)
Ill post pics below

I plan to add under-glow lights really soon

I'm currently looking to place a Sub-frame brace, Tie Bar and front and rear Sway bars under the car.
I'm curious to know if this combination of anti-sway mods will do more harm than good. I was wondering if anyone could give me advice about it.

Also if anyone knows of any other mods or accessories that I can add to my car or any ideas in general that I can use to improve the performance and look of my car i would greatly appreciate it. Performance wise I'm more into Handling and Acceleration.

Thanks alot!!

^lol

Adding a larger rear sway bar will give you a major improvement in handling performance, your exit speeds going through turns will be much higher. You can try running without a front sway bar as well, that will decrease your turn in entrance speeds but the increased body roll will improve traction and work with the rear sway to improve exit speeds even more. You'll need a subframe brace for any rear sway over 19mm and aftermarket or integra lcas.

Those headlights look like they need a polish too, but that might just be the camera.

Lol :-) I'll admit the interior has a long way to go but it's a learning progress and also a work in progress.

Thanks for the insight on the sway bars. I greatly appreciate it.
I plan on putting in smoke or black headlights.

Do you know of any good but affordable poly-u full body kits that I can put on the car?

I saw a few low priced ones on e-bay but many people tell me to stay away from buying certain parts from eBay due to low quality.

I also want to input bucket seats as well as a short ram intake because I hear the the short ram intake increases torque which I think will mean an increase in acceleration if I'm not mistaken. If anyone has a better knowledge on that can you please share it with me.

Also Other than ebay and andyautosport.com

Are there any other sites that sell parts for the civic at good prices?

Thanks for your time guys I truly appreciate it

Don't put a body kit on, the designers at honda did a much better job modeling your car than any body kit manufacturer. If you want to change body panels get a cf hood and hatch.

It's okay to buy some things on ebay, you just need to know what to buy.

Bucket seats, as in higher end non-reclineable racing seats or a stock seat swap?

A short ram intake will give you maybe 1ft lb of torque, the acceleration gains would be negligable, it's more about a sound and cosmetic change until you do more serious modifications to the engine.

Energysuspensionparts, theretrofitsource, passwordjdm, and corsport are a few of my favourite sites.

Re: New Member with a 99 EX 5-speed
I agree Honda did a great job modeling the cars but i was thinking about going for a look like this ( The pic below)

Also I saw on eBay that they had reclining bucket seats. I don't ever recline my driving seat so it wouldn't be much of a problem for me if they couldn't recline but it would be convenient to have for the passenger seat. So I believe I'm aiming more toward the higher end non-reclineable racing seats if the Reclinable ones are unavailable.

Thanks for the info on the short ram and for the Extra sites, I'm gonna check them out now as well as the CF hood and hatch.

Well, it's your car dude. If you like that bumper put it on, but i think it's hideous, oem lips kits give the best look.

You can get decent quality authentic seats for $700-800 a pair used on ebay, you'd be looking at double that new. Don't be tempted by cheap knock off seats, the quality is horrible.

Re: New Member with a 99 EX 5-speed
To be honest, it's the sidekirts that I'm mostly attracted to and not so much the rear bumper. My rear bumper is fine the way it is. The only reason i would change the front bumper is so that I could get flood lights. If there is an oem front bumper that could accommodate flood lights, can you let me know where to find them so that I can check then out.

Also I'm looking for a rear wing spoiler, is eBay I good place to look for one?

Andys auto sports sells NRG seats for a pretty affordable price, Is NRG a good quality company to buy from?

And I know many may think I'm taking it too far but are the vertical door conversion kits they sell on eBay worth the money?

Thanks, I really appreciate you taking the time to share your opinions and knowledge with me.
