uh...Hi?
uh...Hi?
Hey, just joined this site because I got a new Honda Civic =D (wouldn't call it new). I'm mostly into computers, but I like DIYing everything, so I thought I'd join here to get help and learn more about cars.
My Car: 2000 Honda Civic DX
Cost for me: $0 (Found it at a junk yard, everything works and is fine, odometer only has about 100,000 miles 0_0)
Fixing to do: Entire front bumper is mangled and the two fenders are broken T_T
Other than that, it works fine =D add some
mods to it and it'll be my future car =D
PS: I'm only about 15, so I got about 6 months until I can actually drive T_T, so I got 6 months to make this car mine

Also, I'm asian, so if I pour some rice on my car it'll be a ricer =D
Also, Also, (lol) there are like no street races where I live, only people who like to rev their car really loud at night to **** everyone off.

Re: uh...Hi?
My thing about it is there's a big difference between spirited driving and street racing. I like to drive spirited on occasion, but I usually maintain no more than 5-10 above the limit. I'm Asian, too, and I drive a modded civic. People stereotype it until they see/hear it, then they usually say something like "Well, it's a rice rocket, but it's a nice rice rocket. I approve!" lol
Anyways, with your car, since you found it in a junkyard, you may wanna get it checked to see if the frame is straight. It sounds like it was in some sort of front-end accident and the insurance prolly didn't wanna cover the cost of straightening the frame. It sounds like it'd be a good project car though, whether it be a quick street car or restoring it to full functioning daily driving use, with prolly some extras to make it a tid bit better.
In any case,
Re: uh...Hi?
yea, I went to a mechanic that I know and they said that the car is perfectly fine besides the two little mishaps. It isn't that it crashed I think because half of the front bumper is gone, but not all and the fenders are dented a little inward.
#1 thing I gotta find
Where to get parts. like an online store.

Re: uh...Hi?
for OEM stuff
hondapartscheap.com (South Bay Honda)
hondaautomotiveparts.com (Majestic Honda)
You can usually get stuff for about half of what the dealerships charge. Only downfall is they usually charge a good amount for shipping. It's still cheaper than getting ripped off at the dealership though. I was able to get a set of 4 coil packs for my '02 for $200 plus shipping instead of $100/coil pack plus tax at majestic honda
For aftermarket, I go to thmotorsports.com or dezod.com. I'm sure you can talk to Paul at dezod to see if you can get stuff for a '00 though. His website only sells stuff for 01-05 civics (plus universal stuff).
