Hello all
Hello all
Hi I'm Jon from Rochester, NY. About a month ago I bought a 99 Civic Si and I got to say, for my first car it's awesome. I'm worried about living in NY and driving my Civic through the winter so if anyone has tips on how to keep it clean and protect it from rust it would be much appreciated.

These are the mods I have so far:
Performance Parts
* AEM CAI
* Custom Built Racing Cat-back Exhaust
* NGK Platinum Plugs and 10.2 Wires
* TEIN Super Street Coilovers
* Integra Type-R close ratio gearbox, flywheel and clutch
* Short Throw Shifter
Interior
* Custom Pedals
* Custom Shift ****
Exterior
* StreetGlow Interface and blue neons inside
* ViS Carbon Fiber hood
* Civic Type-R Carbon Fiber front lip
* JDM Upper Grill
* HC1 Style rear lip
* Final Speed Gear-R 17x7 Wheels with blue lugs and lock
* 20% Tint on the back windows
Audio
* Custom Sub Enclosure
* 12" JL Sub (getting a BOSS 1500W amp)
* Pioneer Speakers in front and Lanzar in back
* Pioneer Head Unit

I plan on redoing the interior sometime soon. Either some street buckets and 4 points or reupholstering the seats in black and blue pleather.
So far this forums has helped me in several places so thank you very much!

Re: Hello all
I love that generation and style of civic. To prevent it from rusting get it oil sprayed every year before the winter starts, and if you want to go the extra mile get one of those electronic rust stoppers. Wash down the engine compartment regularly (properly, of course). Keep your rims clean so they don't corrode and wash the car once or twice a week. Especially in the winter.
Re: Hello all
Those b16a2 motors are stout though. They can be put through alot. I had a red one with a couple things done to it. But when I got it I was like damn, I forgot how vtec really was cause I had my ep3 and it has that i-vtece. Wish I still had her though. Valve took a dump on me pretty bad.

Too bad the newer ones don't do that.
