New Honda owner and new to Florida
Hi fellas I just purchased a 2001 civic coupe this monday, and i have been looking for a good civic forum.Looks like i found one.I am a native of NYC and I just moved to ft Lauderdale Fl last saturday. So far i think the civic is a great car.Its thurday and i actually have a little over half a tank left LOL.Im used to guzzling a 1/4 tank a day
Previously i have owned a 82 buick regal with a 350 chevy that ran low 15s, and my last car was a 90 mustang 5.0 that ran low 12s.
I dont want to mod my daily driver too much just a nice pair of wheels, a K&N filter and a speaker upgrade. No fancy audio equipment, i already have a hearing problem LOL.I am very inpressed with hondas build quality, i tested 2 PT cruisers and was really disappointed. They both had a nasty vibration up front and the brakes were horrible.Nextwas a V6 mustang. It was really nice but had a terrible tan interior.Nice nevertheless.I finally drove my 01 coupe and i was sold.It is very light and nimble, has great brakes and a neat spoiler. The more i drive it i enjoy it.I am also very content with hondas reliability.
Now for a few questions:
How large a wheel can fit in the fenders with the stock ride height? I am thinking about a 16-17s.It MIGHT get dropped later on, so im going to need some room in the future if i do decide to lower it.Its currently riding on a 14in stock wheel.Yukk.
I am used to older vehicles and warming them up prior to driving them.Do you guys wait a few minutes after a cold startup? The manual says nothing about this.I have always made it a good habit to let the oil circulate for a bit after driving off on a cold startup in the morning.Opinions?
Do they make shift kits for autos? It would be great to get a more snappy shift out of the slushbox.
Thank in advance
