Best Headlight Bulbs
I have a 2001 Honda Civic ex coupe I recently install 55w/65w Phillips halogens 4500k I believe & I feel they are still not bright enough. Please help
Re: Best head light bulbs
Silvania Ultrastars are suppose to be nice.
You want a lower color temperature. Maybe a 3500k would be better for you. A higher temp will result in a whiter lighter.

Re: Best head light bulbs
I did some reading about headlight bulbs a while ago and it seems there's marginal difference between bulbs aside from price

Re: Best head light bulbs
Higher color temp halogen bulbs look cooler, but ultimately are worse for light output. I'd be willing to bet that the 4500k bulbs you have are blue tinted, yes? That blue tint filters out a bit of light, producing a whiter color, but you lose light output. Stick to the 3300-3500k bulbs for optimum output.

I used the Philips 9003 XPS2 X-treme Power and found them even better than the Sylvania Ultrastars.

@ Nalmonte
If you are looking for real bright bulbs for your ride, check out the high and low beam headlight replacement bulbs by Sylvania. Take a look at this comparison chart of different light bulb choices based on their brightness: http://www.carid.com/images/sylvania...omparison.html

Re: Best Headlight Bulbs
Great majority of the low mileage Civic's I've kept had this setup & I'm looking to save a few hundred in gas. I was told that the 70/65 did not cut into the catalytic converter unless the mileage dropped from 120,000 to 50,000
