OEM 04/05 fog question... **urgent!**
I received my OEM fogs from HOnda the other day for my 04 coupe. I am currently in the process of installing them and I noticed something that looked a little strange and am wondering if it is normal.
Inside the foglight housing (where the reflecting surface and the bulb are) there is a metal piece that is connected at the top and comes down to cover the sides of the bulb, now is this something that Honda uses to protect the bulb for shipping and is removed before use or is it actually part of the housing and should remain there?
Hopefully my discription is good enough to explain what im talking about, id really like to get this cleared up as im putting them in now and the instructions dont mention removing it, but it looks strange. thanks

I think it is a shield that helps with light dispersal. My 2002 has the same shield. The ebay fogs do not have them. Which makes them 'cheaper'.

it is a shield designed to reduce glare from the sides. it works, altho not well. but its better than nothing. and i doubt you could take it out anyway without cracking open the lens.
