If I buy a McCulloch HID kit and say I blow a bulb. Can I use any HID bulb or does it have to be there bulbs? Just curious in case I would want to upgrade bulbs. Which Kelvin rating should i got with? 5K-8k?

if you buy mcculloch, you've bought into their system. you cannot use OEM bulbs with a mcculloch kit. as far as what color you should get, you should stick to OE spec - 4100-4300k.

I totally agree. BTW it's always better to use oem gear instead of a kit.

Pretty much all of the bulbs that comes with a kit is rebased and you are pretty much stuck with that type of bulbs, which turns out to be very @#$% bulbs.

To gain the advantage of HID you should do a retrofit and use OEM Philips/Osram bulbs, not kits...

Bingo!

HID bulbs run on 2 wires; a positive and a negative.
If you can clip, strip, and solder you can make almost any bulb/ballast work together.
