as far as heat dissipation goes, do projectors kill bulbs much faster due to the bulb being in a sealed, small chamber vs halogen having a huge area and more surface area to cool?

No. The projector is still "open air" between the reflector and the lense. It is not completely sealed.

really? my projector fog pieces are sealed, there is even some goo residue between them but not much cause they were cheap ebay ones. well actually there is a hole at the bottom but you cant even stick a pencil in. maybe the heat comes out through the lens? cause when i put my hand in front it feels like a magnifing glass on me.

If TYC projector...I can get my finger into it...
Valeo D2S projector has a bigger opening on the side...
Others, no idea...
But a good projector should have thermal consideration when it is designed...

ah okay for some reason i was thinkin if humidity got in it could blow the bulb.

projectors are never sealed tight/shut. OE comes with humidity bags. whatever they are called to absorb moisture.
