i want to do this, possible?
Okay I was gonna keep this secret but hey its the lighting forum that 1 person visits daily, so no worries haha. I have oem fogs, we all know how suck they are. and now that i have projector headlights, the fogs are completely useless in putting out extra light (yes the tyc puts out more side light and forward light than the fogs do). So my plan is to retro a set of projectors in the fog light housing and wire it up with yellow bulbs. Yay or nay? I'm assuming alot of cutting will be involved and fitting, but these look to be a close match and they are chrome another plus. So i'm most likely gonna buy some ebay housing and these projectors...

To be honest, it's more work than what it's worth.
You will have hard to making new mounts for projectors in oem fog housing.
This is alot more complicated than putting Valeo projectors on your TYC!!
You are reducing light output , because oem clear housing reduce lights, hence it's front of those projectors.

well i think it will just involve cutting a hole and glue the new ones in the back? seems easy enough. as long as they're both cut so they mount even, these are oem "fog" projectors. and i dont understand your last sentence at all
you mean projector fogs wont put out light farther than oem?

If you put projectors behind the oem housing, it will reduce output. That's what i am trying to say.
I guess just do it if you wish too, sounds like you ARE going to attempt anyways....

It's not putting light out much as it was not filtered by the plastic cover.
So technically, not as bright.
Because the cover would reduce some of light wave lengths.
Probably hard notice differences in our eyes, but cover will reduce some of light.

so do I. there are two reasons I wanna do it: First it will look cleaner almost like there's no fog light, cause all you see is a small projector instead of all that chrome. Second you don't see an ugly yellow bulb reflecting everywhere. Oh and I guess third, better light output. BMW>civic
not sure why you are spending so much on increasing the light output when you have high quality projectors putting out maximum light. You still wont even notice the fogs at all when your driving at night
on the other hand..it will look sexy as hell

ya exactly. and yellow does put out more visible light esp on rainy days. But ya its mostly for looks, and I only spent $150 on parts. Thats not much imo if it works.
It makes more sense to have TYC helogen coupled with a HID fog (like I did before, Syl X1010), that gives you more lights on the sides and front...Now I have HID projector+HID bulb inside TYC the HID fog is useless except for look, where the projector gives me some flashing purple and the HID fog is constant white/blue.....
