Foglight switch still lights up with fuse pulled?
My OEM style foglights havent been working for a while now. Today, I finally found the fuse location to the foglights, and turns out that it was melted, but not blown. Why is that? The melted fuse is a 30A, but according to handaaccessories, it should be a 20A.
. With the fuse gone, I turned on the switch, the foglights didnt come on, of course, but the switch inidcator light still comes on! Why is that? Also, the shop that installed my foglights soldered 3 wires onto the switch. I tested the wires with a multimeter, and all of them have a connection, even with the switch and parking lights in the OFF position, and fuse pulled out! Do I have a short somewhere? Everything else seems to be ok (wires under the hood, 55W bulbs, power relay). Help!

relay might be dead... did u test it ?
the switch still lights up because it is probebly powered though a diffrent connection.
have u tried to isolate any of the connections by connecting them directly ?
start from the fogs to a 12v source, then move the switch to a 12v, g, and output and test to see if the output gives power, and last, test the relay. If every works out, start checking if you have connectivity between your switch to the relay, relay and fuses.. ect... you might have burned the wire somewhere.

I had the same exact problem and fixed it tonight. My fuse was melted along with the little fuse box. Cleaned all of it up and rewired it. I put a new fuse in and everything was good to go. I had a 30a as well but now use a 20a.
