Nissan Factory H.I.D's in a 03 Stock Headlights Need help Update
Sup guys,
I came across a 05 Nissan H.I.D kit for a bargan. Well the kit was Ripped out of a 05 Nissan, and I was told it's from a Altima. I am missing a HID bulb. Well here's what it says on the bulb
Phillips Germany
D2S 35W 85122 +
03V DOT E511
Any ways long story sort I was told that D2S bulb's are designed for projectors rather then reflectors. So I was wondering what do you guys think?? Will this cause any major problems on my stock head light housing?? Thank in advance for the help

dont do it. unless you can shield part of the bulb the same way that D2Rs are shielded, then junk the idea for using D2S bulb in reflector headlights. even with the D2R bulb, you will have to shield the bottom of the bulb so that it doesn't reflect too high. if you use the casper shield, you will be able to get a decent looking cutoff from the d2r bulbs.
cliff notes: don't do it.

i wouldn't do it. Just buy one part at a time and do it the right way and do a retro. There is going to be huge difference between a retro and a hid kit. The retro you will see the bmw blue and purple flicker. The hid kit, it will seem you just have brighter headlights.

I have d2s bulbs in my OEM housings. It works fine. Just expect to have people flash you thinking your brights are on. My whole front window is tinted 20 percent so it works out perfect for me.

yeah it's definitely not too far fetched to see cars come factory with 85126+ or 85122+ bulbs. lexus did it with their 2000-2004 (?) LS and GS (reflector based).
Sup guys I need help. It turns out that the HID kit i have is off a Murano. So now I need a Ballast Off a Nissan Murano. Can you guys tell me is you know someone who is selling a ballast off a Murano or know where I can find one? Thanx

the HID bulbs from an OEM vehicle is not vehicle specific. the bulbs are probably Osram D2S bulbs. buy any ballast that is made for D2S bulbs and you are set. to name a few: Hella gen 3, Hella gen 4, Bosch/AL, Valeo, matsushita
just search for one of those terms and add the word "ballasts" at the end of the search. search on ebay and you will find tons of listings.
