i just got my New TC, i traded in my old sunfire, and my 03 civic...

i want to get the 5 series retro fit HID's But because i charged my Trip To London, and amsterdam, im Broke till i pay off my debt..

So im looking for some Really nice Purple ish looking bulbs...

i know there not as bright, Bla bla bla

i just love the look to them..

SO! i want to get the piaa Super plasma gtx's there like 74bucks

i have silverstar's for my high's and want to keep them..

i now have luminics Ultra Violet's, but im not happy with them at all..so

anyone use these bulbs? i know this is a Honda site, but i figured it was cool,

can't go wrong with piaa, i have every light bulb in my car changed over to extreme white. the purple look is nice but i like the blue/white a little better.

i don't know man.. many people here said piaa sucks
they are expensive and not worth the money
i have 2 pairs before and they blew within a year (each pair)

i have a pair of hyper whites 4000K. they're alright...better than stock and only a little brighter. If I had to start all over again I wouldn't get em. they cost too much. you can get nokya bulbs for much cheaper.

Piaa's only lasted me 3 months. They were the gtx version excellent light output but longevtity sucks for the price.

i would go nokya, but i was warned they draw to much power for the 9006 TC low beam, and on scionlife, people have had there wires fried n stuff...

Any other Bulbs that are good quality?

save your money and get hid kit... the only way to go... find one online, a single beam 8000k or 9k kit for like 245-300 dollars.

^haha wow. you say save your money, but by purchasing an 8000 or 9000k HID kit, you are wasting your money (this time ~$300) HARDCORE on POORER light performance than stock.

interesting... to be more specific, i spent around 100 in 2 years in h4 bulbs, and i was going to put down another 100 on a set of piaa's when i did some research and decided to set aside some money from work and save up for a xenon hid kit. now i know your a avid user infinite012, but why do you think the stock h4 bulb has "poorer" performance than a xenon hid kit? you can check out this site and read up on the advantages of xenons or just check out a car that has them. results are clear.

no need to question my authoritah, but here's the low down, nitty gritty.

have you heard of eye-fatigue? it's what happens to your eyes when looking down the road with a BLUE LIGHT. you know what 8000-9000k looks like? blue. there is so much less adjusting needed for your eyes when using a bulb that is rated around 2000-5000k than there is at 8000+k. if you did some research outside of xenon depot (a known manufacturer of "rip off" kits), then you would also understand this term of "eye-fatigue."

i also understand the fact that even at 8000k the HID capsule will put around 2800 lumens (or thereabouts), but a 4300k bulb will put out mid 3000s. that's a lot of light lost when adding in the eye-fatigue factor.

and to correct your question, i never said that stock was poorer than any HID kit. what i did say was that even if you spend $1000 on a KIT that is rated at 8000k, you will NEVER have the output that i have.

for the original question: get MTEC bulbs. they are the cheapest alternative to stock, while obtaining a higher kelvin rating (more color) and staying at the stock wattage.

never heard of eye-fatigue. but i agree with the fact that anything higher than like 5k bulb means more show than go. your sacraficing light for color when you get the into the higher k kits. infinite012, sorry for using xenondepot as a site to simply show some facts; it was easiest place to quickly jump to for some info and graphes.

question to infinite012: how did you get that great light output, is there a DIY for it?

In the US the range is very restrictive. If you can get hold of them, Super White & White or Xtreme Force look the best. Super Plasma GTX are good looking but there have been problems over the years with the coating comimg off (especially with Super Plasma's). I have a PIAA Cobalt Blue HID kit in my 05 hatch and nothing comes close (unbelievable performance). All Honda's have a very badly designed electrical system with voltage spikes which will cause the bulbs to fail very quickly. If you are going to use PIAA bulbs (i.e. spend lots of dollars) install a PIAA DC-DC converter to get rid of the voltage spikes and mainatain a voltage of 13.2v at the bulbs. It is money well spent.

And remember dont stop your engine with the lights on and dont start it with the lights on. The bulbs will last a lot longer.

I had a set of piaa gtx and they were not good. I blew them in 7 months and the output is not better than stock. I think I had better output when I put my stocks back in. Now I have a retrofit like infinite and I would never look back. The output is much better than stock and I always cast shadows over all those drivers with "kits". Just save your money and be happy with your stock lights until you can afford a retrofit. Someone on hidplanet.com did a retrofit on a scion and it was not bad. Its also not that expensive if you are handy with tools. I just got done with my second retrofit which I used ZKW projectors. I am just waiting on the weather to clear up so I can pop them in.

Piaa is garbage. Most people say they burn in a month or two. They have false advertising scemes and actually put out LESS light than stock. If you want to have the most possible light, stay with stock and get a new wire harness. I have philips vision plus and they shine even farther on the road. Great bulbs and I know they'll last more than 6 months. I really think they should all be banned because it really is unsafe to drive with coated bulbs.
