dome light
dome light
if i wanted to have my neons go on when the doors opened i would have 2 tap into the done light i have 2 questions on this is it posible to do that whitout cutting the done light wire like using a fuse tap or something and how would i setup it up so i could keep them on without the dome light on thanks
Not sure what your asking there.
If your asking if you can avoid cutting the wiring to the dome light, the answer is Yes, if your good at soldering. I haven't looked in my doorjams, but on the front next to the hinges there should be a little reverse momentary switch that the door pushes up against when closed.
When pressed it leaves the circuit in an open(un-grounded) position, which is why the lights come on. When the door is open the circuit is left closed, and that's why the light comes on. You should be able to just solder two wires on to the switch and use that to run the neons.(Not sure off hand what the voltage is running through the switch, but if it's 12 volts, it should work fine.)
as for keeping them on whenever, it's a simple matter of running a 2nd set of wires into the neon and setting a 2nd toggle switch up somewhere along the line. That way whenever you flip that toggle switch into the On position you bypass the door jam's momentary switch and ground the circuit yourself.

the doorpin wires are cake. if 7th gen here still has a wire diagram printout for alarm installation, grab that, and itll tell you where in the underdash to tap to get the wire. I'm pretty sure its a grounded switch. but youd have to use a relay anyways. (search how to use a relay, its been covered.)
your doors are combined from the factory, so as long as A door is opened, your neons come on
add a diode right by the pin switch (take of the rear quarterpanels and you'll find the pinswitch by the latch), and the neons will open for the individual passenger that opens their individual door
and doing that would still allow yoru alarm to work as the factory intended =D
