Unknown brands of HID kits
Unknown brands of HID kits
I can't afford to spend over 300 bucks on a decent kit right now so decided to go for the cheapest one 8000k on eBay for 210

What are some major risks that something possibly could go wrong when it's used?? I can't see myself paying over 300 on a good brand name kit anyway so should I not get one at all? Cheers.

If you can't see yourself paying over $300, you should stick with halogen. Get some nice osram euro bulbs from ambulbs.com and save your money.
Problems with bad kits
-tons of glare
-bulb may burn in a month
-cops may get you
-might not fit
-may not work at all
it doesn't even say what the color temp is in that auction!

... cops may get u, its the same for any other HID bulbs other there anyways if you get some that outputs in blue or purple color.
... might not fit, i would think if they state its for certain bulb base, it would probably fit. i mean come on, if they gonna rebase the HID, might as well get one that matches, right? not like bulb base are expensive...
as for bulbs burning out within a month and not work at all, that's the main problem i guess. then again, even quality HIDs have their defected bulbs, just less chances of it happening.

my $600 kit has about as much glare as a well-aimed halogen bulb. I can't say the same about other kits, even with bulb shield. Someone bought an xtec H1 and it wouldn't fit his tyc projectors at all. If it doesn't say the color in the auction, it could be anything. And those instructions are faulty. I'm scared of that auction-the seller has no idea what he's talking about.

Good luck, I would've wasted the money on something else. Oh well.

but what kit would you go for if you have 300 bones??
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=36476 ???
Also is it true that different kits say at 8000k may produce different colour of light?? Some more white some more blue...correct??

The guy tells you to turn the bulbs on to test, them turn em off. This ruins the bulb. HID requires warm up and cool down.
That second auction is also garbage. It's a generic kit again. At least with the xtec kit you get name brand parts. Yes there is a big difference. The best color temp (most light output is around 4500k white. As you go up, the color changes to blue/purple and you get less light output.

dude ur a rucking fetard...
for less than $100 more u could have bought a kit off Jay (ImPulse) and had a guarantee, rather then some shady guy whose auction says the same BS a thousand times, offers no warranty... and u bought 10000k... that has to be the dumbest move ever, if ur gonna go cheap why didnt u just buy the sh!ttiest kit there is?
"brand new in box if purchase is made at online store" so that doesnt mean the ebay auction is a NIB kit.
so did you Klick buy?

Lol, first off, another problem with getting those hids is no warranty or shitty if there is, next look at the pic describing what the 5,6,7,8k kits look like, all the same color they produce hey? then look at the beam on the road, the 8000k is brighter than the 5000k?AHAHAHAH, number 3 on a product like that, god I would hope there is some sort of shipping insurance or something....oh wait, Shipping insurance: Not Offered, hahahah, next point....bah never mind im gunna go to the Online Sotre !!! and see if I can get myself a pair.
