PlasmaGlow LED

My PlasmaGlow LED undercar kit came in today, and before install it I have a few questions. I have the R34 Octane fiberglass kit, so is there anything i should take in account when mounting? Also, is there a certain tecnique in mounting them in order to get the most light output on the ground? thanks

Use the body kit to hold the tubes in place and zipties. If it's an led kit, obviously leds should be facing down. For the rear, you may need to cut the bumper to get light to shine through. I'm assuming you want everything hidden.

put your finger in the socket hole and pull it out. That whole bottom piece just pops out or you could pry it off from the sides.

Holy Crap, the installation for this thing was more than i bargained for. It came with "easy plug n' play" plugs on the end of each wire, which turned out to just be a pain in the @$$, because it was hard to run them to where they needed to be due to the huge tips. However, with a little hard work, ingenuity, and elbow grease, i was able to succesfully accomplish everything that needed to be done. I basically ripped apart the entire center console and interior compenents to run the wires and install the switch in my dash, but it was worth it. Mounting them was cake. As far as my opinion on the product, i give it a 9 out of 10. It is decently bright, and comes with a variety of scanning and pulsing options which are fun to play with, and overall i am impressed. My only complaint is that the LED's are a little too spread out in my opinion, and you can slightly tell but not really. Ill have some pics up within the next couple of days, thanks everyone for you help.

1) what did ya find to zip tie the wires to under the car?
2) im assumin that you took apart the dash to use the holes in the firewall that are already there?
3) did ya buy the door handle kit to go along with it?

I purchased the single color LED kit in red, but im assuming its basically a similar configuration to the multicolor

1) I didnt use zipties, i drilled them in place using the brackets given
2) I took apart the center console using this sites helpful DIY's, and yes i used the firewall that is already there. I cut a hole in the little plastic piece to fit my switch perfectly, it took a couple tries.
3) Nope, no door handle kit

In my kit there were the mounting brackets for the tube, and those little red things, no idea what to do with them, i assume they are for the wiring. So did you have other things in your kit to secure the wires? Right now mine are pretty much a mess under the car, and that's not safe. Ideas?
Oh Also, with all the tight room in the engine compartment, did you mount the distribution block inside there, or did you bring all of the wires in through the firewall. (Which is what I am considering doing to more easily hide the slack.)

Thanks
Josh

I mounted the actual tubes with screws and brackets, and then the wires with a couple zip ties. I didnt bring any of the wires throught the firewall because of those big *** plugs on the tips so i brought the one from the back through my trunk, the one in the front from underneath my engine bay, and the sides through my wheel well and that small gap inbetween the doors. It was a pain.

Okay that should help me out, now if I could just have a nice warmer day here in IL to take most of the car apart. Workin on your car when it is below 50 is a major pain. Do you have a pic of where you opted to mount the controller inside? Don't know if your kit had one, but mine has an inside light bar that looks very ugly, no idea where i'm gonna stick that thing.

I wont get around to even tryin anything until Sunday prolly. I have a crappy location to work on the car, think small garage packed full of crap that isnt mine and just enough room to fit my Civic in and open the driver door. haha
But with 50 degree weather on Sunday if I get up early I should be able to rip the car apart outside. But it should look good when finished. Undercar kit coupled with the door handle kit, nice. Now to buy the wheel well kit for complete glow coverage. Now if I just had some rims .. arg. Anyway wanna donate about 2k? lmao

Just in case anyone wants to know, I bought the kits from the following site:
http://store.newlevelmotorsports.com/plnepr.html
$154 for the 2.1 million color undercar kit, like $42 for the handle kit (4 door, gonna stick the other 2 inside my car somewhere, maybe the vents.) Then like another $140 for the 4 wheel well 2.1 million kit.

no no, go with the 2.1 million color kit. ya can change color on a whim, never be locked in to the same glow again. it's a good buy since it isnt much more money, and again ya do any color or have it fade through all 2.1 million shades. (Disclaimer, I won't get to test this all out until tomorrow after I finish hookin up the inside controller and crap.) OH HEY, anyone know of a CHEAP/FREE way to get the code for the stock stereo, i'm the second owner of my '01 and the first dude/dealer didn't list the code in the book. Called a local dealer and they wanna charge me $50 bucks to tell me, and that's a rip! Yea yea I know, buy a new unit, and I could have, but I wanted some glow asap. So if ya know any tricks to get it (man i wish i knew a stereo theif) let me know cause startin tomorrow I'll be out of music in the car.

Don't know any tricks. So, with that multi color kit you can change colors? I thought it just cycles automatically.

yea. via the docs. you have i think 7 color options, or the changin through them all. Plasmaglow offers a lot of options. I know there is another company, at least, offerin a LED kit with multi color options, but this is for sure a cheap way to go. (And cheap sometimes = smart and not low quality) BUT let me hopefully wake up early tomorrow and hook everything up. Then I'll reply with a "full review" and such afterwards.

FINISHED!!! Man why didn't someone tell me there was a hole through the firewall under the passenger side carpet, ARG!! I found that after I started takin the dash off and after I disconnected the battery. Well none-the-less, the kit is wired up and workin, in a few hours when it gets dark I'll post some pics and see how well this kit works. All it cost me was a bunch of scratches and loosin my in dash, cause sure enough it wants a code that I don't have. lmao (BTW I plan to pull the head unit and take it in to the dealer to see if they will politely give me the code w/o chargin me the 50 bucks they want. If that fails, my old in dash from my last car will be goin in tomorrow.)

if ya mean me, and not the original author of this thread, no. I gave the link from the company where I got my kit. On my old nasty car I bought one of those cheap sets off ebay, it only worked for the summer, by fall it stopped all together. My advice, if they don't tell you who makes it, then it isn't a good thing to buy. Not to mention that kit plugs in to your Cig lighter, haha
