Questions about TYCs
So I've kind of been asking some questions about tycs in the thread I posted in members rides but the thread is dieing so I thought I would specifically post here. Here's the deal: I am getting the TYC projectors. However, I have some questions that may sound really stupid so dont flame me too bad for not knowing but I need to know so hey..
I've read about sealing tycs before they're installed. I know this involves taking silicone and putting a good bead all the way around where the lens meets the back of the housing. I've been told to remove the lens by "baking them" in the oven for a few minutes so you can easily pry it apart.
Do I really need to do this or can I just silicone it without?
If I do need to bake them, what temp and how long?
Next thing, this is the question that is going to sound really dumb but I heard somewhere down the line that TYCs require an H1 bulb. True or untrue? Otherwise, can our H4 bulb fit? Also, I noticed that the high beams and the low beams are in two seperate projectors.
Well, the high beam doesn't even look like it would be a projector?
How do I go about wiring that if its different?
On a side note, I AM aware that the light output with halogens is very poor but it only has to last me until I get my tax returns which should be sometime in the middle/end of february when I can order my HIDs.
Any help is appreciated!

You do not necessarily have to bake the headlights, but if you want to, then go for it. There is no advantage to doing it.
If I do need to bake them, what temp and how long?
Preheat oven to 250 degrees FARENHEIT. Once the oven is at 250F, turn the oven off. I must stress that you turn the oven off, otherwise you will melt your housing. Put the headlight in the oven for 4-5 minutes, but keep checking up on the headlights to make sure that they're not secretly melting. After the 4-5 minutes, the sealant should be fairly goopy, so you can pull your lights apart.
TYCs require an H1 bulb. True or untrue?
True. Both high beam and low beam use H1 bulbs. If you buy the headlights new, they should come with H1 bulbs already installed, along with all the other bulbs (parking and turn bulbs).
Otherwise, can our H4 bulb fit?
Absolutely not.
Well, the high beam doesn't even look like it would be a projector?
High beam is reflector based.
How do I go about wiring that if its different?
The TYCs should come with the appropriate wiring harness.
Hope that clears up a few Q's.

parking light is 168/194 (stock) turn signal is some odd number. search for that one because i know i posted it up somewhere.
hid kit? retrofit it
hid kit? retrofit it
TYC's are great!!! The parking light is a 7440 I think.......I used a hyper white for the parking light, looks killer. I changed the H1 bulbs over to some MTEC's I bought from Impulse. Cosmos Blue for the low beams and super white for the high beams, his suggestion, and it looks good, and works good.
