Brightstar H4 bi-xenon question

Hey all,

I'm about to buy a Brightstar 6500K H4 bi-xenon kit from another member on this board. Does anyone know if they're any good? Any problems?

I've been doing some research. A LOT of people are saying to go retro, but I honestly don't have the time or patience for that. I love the fact that the kit is plug and play. Also, I've heard a lot of reliability issues regarding bi-xenon kits made for H4, supposedly the servo breaks -- thus disabling the hi-beams. And the brand "Brightstar"... never really heard of it either. Anyway, what do you guys think?

Thanks!

eh, All hi/low hid kits are gimics... thats why i refuse too sell them

something is bound too happen too them, and when it does, you will either be stuck with only high beam or low beam, or nothing

I dont know much about that brand, but I have a low beam only H4 Xtec kit and it works great. You dont need a hi-beam with HID's.

as far as retro vs stock housing

as long as you dont care about have a very strong cut off line stock housings fine

You really don't need hi beam. Mine has it anyway, but I hardly use it.

Yeah I know I don't need HID hi-beams.. BUT I have an H4 housing. So that single bulb takes care of low and hi beams. If I put in a low-beam HID kit, I'll lose my hi beam functionality.

I know many people here say hi-beams aren't needed, but I say its better you have them.
I prefer to hi-beam someone than to honk at them...so yeah I'm biased.
When you are on the highway at night, you will notice the difference between hi/lo beams and you will be glad you have it.

On my hi/lo kit I've never had a problem with servos breaking but since I don't have the brand you are looking at, the mechanisms might be built differently.

I've never heard of the brand so I can't say anything about them.
If you can't find a company website, then its probably a cheap generic brand.

There is a company website... www.brightstar-hid.com

Its a Taiwanese brand. I'm considering just going to xenondepot and getting their H4 kit and just sacrificing the hi-beam. But what likeaferio said, I prefer to hi-beam people rather than honking. For sure xenondepot is all good because they use all phillips parts, plus I've heard all the good reviews. So I'm guessing I shouldn't go through with buying the brightstar kit...

Also, just curious to know what HID kits everyone else is using with their stock OEM housing.
