Feel like making some of you jealous... Got Color? >=] Alright... Well, One of my ballasts stopped working, and I figured out why (1 of the prongs was bent down, so the bulb wasnt ignited properly).
Anyways, I got a set of hella ballasts sent too me from Larry - HID Performance (over night), he was also kind enough too make me a new harness
Alright... Anyways, I decided too go outside and switch ballasts but, also clean XSRCivic's new headlights (open them up, clean the lenses, ect.)
Well, I also figured, why not see what "bending the shield" means/does
Ill let the images speak for themselves
First... Headlights with the current lense cover/dirty

Silicone is drying as of now... so, yea, more pix possibly tomorrow or a diff time

Hmm thats sweet, to bad my 5000k hids look yellow lol.. its weird i thought they'd look like normal hid's.. mabye its cuz i have that gunmetal housing from robear ...

Rep Power: 0 that looks real good :-) what are those valeo ECE H7s? Or the TYC projectors? is that a retro, did they go in there pretty easy? give it up man!
Here's my Valeo H7s, second pic is on a brown brick wall, not really great for color depiction... they're Osram 4100k bulbs :-)
And these will be my next project.... hehehe Guess the projector (hint file name gives it away)

Dude keep the ECE Valeos, I can't stand the wimpy dot cutoff flare... I've had the valeo ECE flipshield H7s... that's what my pics were of, they had such a better color than the dots I've seen.
did you see the arguement on hidplanet where people were blasting the ECE cutoff for being a nuisance? And then where I destroyed it with this pic?
The ECE cutoff isn't that high at all, we can sorely use that extra light on the side of the road. I loved it lighting up signs and all. never got in people's mirrors... keep the ece shields. the dot shield fad will pass.. I mean it's one kinda metal or another, same metal, just different pattern... just my .02$

Rep Power: 0 Yeah, I dunno, I still don't believe that one piece of metal over another would give a better/worse color... I mean in a 2 dimensional plane, we're not talking about focus of the lens any, and it's not any closer to the bulb... So you might have well just stayed with the ece and made it flat since that's the only difference that going from ECE to DOT is... I mean, do you have an explanation for the shield difference? I've tried and started threads in hidplanet asking people to think about it, but most the time I only get a "it's a magic shield" or "My (shield, projector, ballast, wiener) were blessed from birth better than yours, and i don't know why yours suck" kind of answers... but why?
