diy smoking matrix projectors
hey everyone, i just painted my matrix projectors black and upgraded the wiring harness in them to support higher wattage bulbs. I thought you might like the diy for clearing them.
ok, before we get started let me just let everyone know i bought these projectors because i wanted projectors but didn't want to pay the high cost of tycs even though they have superior quality. i figured i could modify mine to get the look i wanted and have been somewhat correct. so to all of you who may be stuck with these, this might be a viable option.
-set oven to 300F and allow to pre-heat
-get the following tools ready: phillips driver, flat-head driver, 2 hot pads
-place headlights in oven for 10 min
-remove headlights with hot pads
-use flat driver on clips to separate
-use phillips driver to remove screw between middle and outer pieces
-repeat for second light
-mask off parking and turn (if you want)
-take middle pieces to ventilated area and spray with high-temp paint
-allow to dry
-place middles back in clear housing and screw together
-put back piece as close to on as you can (glue wont stick, dont worry)
-place back in oven for 10 min (this softens the glue and bakes in paint)
-remove with hot pads
-press tightly together
-done!
if you guys want a diy on the high watt wiring harness let me know.
