OEM Fogs vs OEM Style
can those of you who got your car from honda with the fog lights installed already or those who bought your fog lights directly from honda tell me whether or not the lenses are made out of the same material as the lenses of the oem headlights are?
i picked up the oem style from ebay, and the lenses cracked within two weeks. yeah both of them. to the touch they feel like glass...i gotta go put like tape over them until i get new ones in cuz they keep getting wet inside from the fog/rain around here.
so if those of you with OEM fogs from honda can help me out, that would be greatly appreciated.

Interesting. I was gonna get the replicas, but if they break that fast... but oem is like $500 from the dealer. I found em on handaaccessories.com for $250 or something.

yeah i'm not sure if all the replicas are the same, cuz i was talking to impulse, and he said his are only warped from rocks...but mine just cracked all over the place. it looks like chunks of glass came off too while i just put tape over them...handaacessories has the replacement lenses for like 95 bucks each...so i might get those.
but first i want to find out if the oems are as durable as the oem headlights.

Well rock chips are gonna destroy almost anything. I have huge chips all over my front lip and it's been on less than a year. Maybe we should get some of that clear protective film to put over them. I forgot where from tho. People put it on the hood and headlights to guard against chips.

im pretty sure twin city doesnt put any fogs/spoilers on unless its by request, i got mine with both, even tho it was expensive, does anyone know how hard it is to re-wire the fogs to come on with parking lights instead of headlights? Im sure there isnt much to it, but I prolly wont do it just cause I dont feel like taking a bunch of things apart, but anyone know how its done?

i bought the replicas but had honda install them. they wired it so they can come on with just the parking lights. so i dunno if they installed yours differently.

OEM fogs are glass. I had one break about 2 weeks ago. Tried to use a clear 'lexan' to repair it. It didn't work. Melted the plastic. I bought a replacement from a site for 90.
I don't know about the replicas. I know that they are wired to work with the parking lights.

I think I'm getting the original. Don't want to pay a bit less for junk and have to replace em. I believe the 01-03 and 04 fogs are a different shape.
ive had my oem replicas from ebay for 2 years and still running and i only have little chipps from daily driving no cracks. i have on crack on the corner from an accident and thats it i paid $60 and installed my self. there hard glass (well mine are) and not the same as the plastic headlights.but different things happen to different people. (hope i didnt jinks myself)
I got some Lamin-x for my fogs too. I got the clear and you can't tell its on there without close inspection. I have OEM style fogs on my Hybrid and I'm hoping the Lamin-x wil prevent them from cracking. That stuff is mighty thick.
