question i just got my 01 coupe back, and i'm trying to make it look better because it's in horrible shape.. i wanted to clear my corners, and under the DIY's i found out how to do it... but i'm wondering if i can just take the yellow part out, or if i need a seperate part to complete the job..

yes, you can just take tha amber piece out... you dont need anything in there to replace it.
The only thing that you should think about is, Legally you will need an amber turn signal.
