Going to Post a DIY for Halos (disregard other posts)
If the mod see's this, they would be greatly appreciated in deletin all my other BS posts about the LEDs and halo projectors.
Last night I picked up a heat gun and went to work on one of the lenses. I pulled it apart fairly easily and found that the halo is simply screwed in place by 2 small phillips heads. Once those were off, the plastic ring fell out and the LEDs simply pop out of place.
I am going to head to radio shack this week and get a new set of LEDs and bigger resistors and new wire too. This should solve my issue and render any more problems.
I am going to post a DIY on how to fix your halo's to work properly once this is done, Im already taking pics to post up.

LOL I was wondering if you actually knew that you were post whoring.
If you're going to do a projector swap, then just do it. I'm pretty sure not everyone wants to see each of your steps in separate threads; just put them in one please.
I don't have any authority, but please please just list any of your updates in this thread. When you type up your complete DIY, then make a separate thread for that.
***Also, there is a few posts already on how to remove the headlights. So refer readers to the bumper removal DIY, and please just do a DIY on the Halo wiring/setup itself.

I wont repost the DIY with how to remove the headlamp, thats simple enough, I will get shots of it broken apart and the LED ring dissassemble, etc.
I PMed a mod to see if they would delete the other posts I whored out. I didnt realize I was doing it till I looked at my CP. Whoops!. Ill keep all updates here with some pics as I go along, then put a full DIY up for a post. Its more the LED ring than the projector, the projector I am happy with, its the damn ring that pisses me off. Tonight Im going to stop at Radio Shack and pickup some supplies and play with my soldering iron.

Do a good job on your DIY man. One of the reasons why i'm didn't hardwire the halo in the projectors, is because they don't light up all that well anyways. If yours comes out nice, then I might do it too.
Just picked up $40 worth of stuff from radio shack
pack 220ohm 5%, 1/2W resistors.
.022mm solder.
4 LEDs (2 blue, 2 white) I tried the white, they sucked, so the blues are in and will be a nice color change and should be more visible against the projectors.
package of heat shrink.
pack of AA batteries for the digi cam.
roll of 18G wire.
Im not just replacing LEDs and resistors, I want a whole new setup, this should work out. I tried a similar thing on my sidemarkers for my Saturn. The rears were simply red reflectors, so I put some clears in there, and wired in some Varad LEds.

yeah I think the flat top would help. but also deeper grooves so it catches the light better? The ring's made out of solid plastic (i think). It should have been made out of the softer rubbery plastic that was used in the DIY Halos. Those work really well in containing the light, just like how fiber optics works.
The rings are a hard plastic that are not full circles, The surface facing the outside is smoth and rounded but the inside is more like a half cirlcle shape with cut V-grooves in the back for light diffusion. I am gonna sand down the LEDs a bit, cant hurt.
Well I did the soldering and such tonight and it worked perfectly, almost. Instead of the 1 resistor that they put on each pos. and negative. I put two resistors on the positive for each LED. Once it was all together they lit up fine. I think my wiring and soldering may be a little loose since one bulb is slightly dimmer. Tomorrow I will head to Radio Shack again and pickup more LEDs to play with. Im close that's for sure since it worked very well and I used a blue LED this time instead.
I sanded down the top the LED to disperse the light more and it helps bring it around the circle. Ill get some pics tomorrow since Ill be sitting in my basement until this is done.

Update
I have them both sealing in my basement, all the work was done, Very simple to do if you have some welding skills.
Cant wait to put them back on tomorrow night, I put some clip on connectors so they will just plug in instead of crimping all the time, the seal is tight with some Clear Silicone that I put into the housing all around.
I used the heat gun to melt off the rest of the stock glue so the light would fit in tightly, all looks good.
