02 fog light switch

Help!

I brought OEM style fog light off eBay, its made by DEPO. but the switch come with the kit doesnt fit on my 2002 dash panel next to the power outlet, but it could fit on driver side next to curise control. but i planned to run the harness from the passenger side, cuz thats one i can find with some wires runnin throught that rubber grommet. tryin to find on driver side, but no luck, to many wires under the steering column

I searched, OEM style switch fit fine on 01 civic, but not on 02, cuz design diff, but if i get "true" OEM switch for 2002 coupe, is that goin solving the switch problem?

This is part number for switch i found from the old thread, but not sure if this is the right one for 2002? $19.....wow

the foglight switch that my eBay oem style foglights came with, fit on the dash above that flip-down coin tray (to the left of behind the steering wheel and blinker lever). There's two slim slots, and then there's a fat square space where the power mirror controls should be. In one of the slim slots, I put the foglight switch, in the other I have the led bulb for my Viper alarm, and I have no power mirrors yet so the fat square one is empty.

If you have the foglight installation from Honda (it's somewhere on this site), it will give you the right part numbers. There is one with amber light and one with white. The white # is P/N 08V31S5D110G. Does anyone know if you can use the switch for underglow neons?

It's really simple. If it doesn't fit in the slot next to the cigarette panel, then it should fit in one of the slots above the flip-down coin tray and the power mirrors switch.

the OEM style switch can fit in one of the slots above the flip-down coint tray (left driver side), but the question is I planned to run the wire harness from the passenger side, cuz theres one rubber grommet with wires running through from the engin bay, if i do this, the wire harness is too short cant reach to the coin tray! thats the problem,

if not, anyone know where's good spot to run the wire harness on driver side? cant find a same rubber grommet from driver side...

help, needed to install fast.

There is a grommet on the drivers side. Just take off the bottom panel where the pedals are and look around. I have everything running through there.

Okay, here is my dillema. It fits above the coin tray, but not next to the cigarette lighter. Thats been established. There are people on the site with EX's like me. I have above the coin tray, a cruise switch, power mirror switch, and sunroof switch. Therefore, I have no place to put the switch. What do I do?

switch

there should be a hole running thru the firewall right above the pedals. I installed the same fog from there. It fits nicely above the flip flop coin tray. in order to get the harness thru such small hole, i cut the wires just before the harness and run the wire thru the hole, then reconnect the wire back to the harness.. eliminates the need to cut open huge *** hole..

my question is, I have a factory fog light switch bought from hondaautomotive.com and its a 5 pin connector.. I wanna hook up a neon to it but i dono where to find that 5 connector... anyone have any solutions?? also, I have no idea which connetion is for the power, ground etc.. it has 3 silver and 2 copper pins.
thanks

buy a switch from honda(it costs 20-30 bucks though) and put it in the center (where the power outlet/lighter is) the oem switch looks better than the oem style ones.. compared to the oem switch the oem style looks crap...

Re: 02 fog light switch

I kinda have the same problem, after searching over and over i have no choice but to post it here...

I bought foglights from ebay for my 2005 civic lx sedan, the foglights fit, the wiring was done but one freaking problem. the button to activate the switch wont fit in the slots to the left of the steering wheel ( the slot between cruise control and power mirrors). I don't want to hard wire it in. I also btw have 3 slots above the ciggarette lighter which i didnt try putting it in.

what should i do?

Re: 02 fog light switch

My Ebay fog light kit came with the same crappy quality switch, I had to carefully sand the outer edges of the "push button" part of the switch until it actually fit into the dash-

Then I had to use a flat black Tamiya paint-marker to cover the exposed white plastic after sanding to keep the light from "leaking" around the outer edge of the button........

after 30-40 mins of messing with it, its worked great for months?

Re: 02 fog light switch

its not the switch thats too big its the autual button thats a lil big cause its after market, i just installed mines today and what i did was i filed the sides and the corners of the button that u presss on the front looks black but the sides looks white (after fileing it down), so i filed it down until the switch clicks on and off nicely and took a sharpie and colerd it black,

Re: 02 fog light switch

can anyone get ahold of these anymore? dealer here says the switch was discontinued and cannot be ordered separately anymore, and that might explain why my fog kit did not include a switch when they assembled it...

where did you get the kit from? if it was OEM, i'd demand they include the switch.

Re: 02 fog light switch

I really dint like the cheap ebay switch that came with my kit so I used a flat LED touch switch from Auto Zone it fit in one of the factory slots above the cup holder. It covered the outside but there was no way to hold it in so I put some double sided tape on the inside of the button behind the factory piece to keep it from popping out and it works great.

could also use silicone on the back to hold it. strong stuff. the tape might come off over time.

Re: 02 fog light switch

wow well i got my coupe oem switch today and im liking it already. it has orange condom on the bulb so the color should match (my old one was green for sedan), and the new one seems to be an oversized switch design that fits on the left next to the cruise and other switches instead of the center console piece. i have my old switch glued in the cruise area and its too small. im thinking this new one will be a perfect fit! now i need a new plastic trim cause the old one is hacked to pieces trying to fit the previous switch in lol.

Re: 02 fog light switch

okay nevermind. the new switch fits the cruise hole just fine, but the sedan fog harness doesnt fit the switch! shape and pins are totally different. so i would need to get ahold of the coupe harness somehow which i doubt would even be possible without buying another fog light kit. oh well not worth it. and even with the harness, i dont know what any of the pins do on the new switch.
