I want to blow my engine,HELP ME!
Today I just got back from the dealer because of a pinging noise in my motor when car is under force(does not ping when car is parked and reving it). They said they don't know what the problem is so they can't do anything about it.I am $hit out of luck because I have 99 500kms(canadian)on my car and the warranty ends at 100 000.the dealer said it's because of the fuel i put in,they said to try a higher octane.I think it's crap because i always put regular in it since i bought it so I dought that's the problem.I never go to the dealer for my oil changes and service,do u think they will refuse? So if I decide to drain my oil and rev my car to blow it do u think the dealer would refuse to change it after being at the dealer so recent? Is that a good way to blow the engine? thanks for ur help guys!
make sure to take a video fo you blowing it up. i want to see this. do like the other dude said and put a brick ont he gas and let it rev, and if you want to make things go faster, drain your coolant first.

If he/she can, then there is no reason why they say they cant do anything. thats bullshit. if they can hear it, then leave it at the dealer untill someone can figure out what the problem is. I understand that some problems are damn near hard as hell to figure out, but there are techs out there who have been in the field for decades and have the knowledge to diagnosis engine issues. And if a problem cant be figured out by a tech, shop foreman, master tech, etc... and all diagnostic steps have been exhausted, then they can ask for a tech specialist to come and help.
Now you have a different case if they cant hear the problem. In that case they may tell you to return when the problem is noticeable.
yes they did hear it,it was the forman of the service department who told me that they can't do anything. I also told him it was consuming a lot of oil.He wanted me to go on a oil consumption schedule, meaning every week I have to head to the dealer so they can verify my consumption, problem is I'm 500kms away from 100 000 so that means no warranty.

I'd call Honda corporate... my guess is they smell money being this close to the end of the warranty, they want you to kill the warranty, then blow it so they can clean you out. If you call honda, make sure its at least established that this problem began under warranty, so that if it blows shortly after, you have something to go off of in the event you need to sue them.
Dude, take a step back and look at how this thread looks.
I hear a noise coming from my engine. I have no idea what the noise is.
So since i hear this noise, i think my engine might be about to go.
Since my warranty is about to run out, i want to blow my engine. help me destroy my engine.
What on earth makes you think your engine is about to go? You have a honda motor with 99kms. The noise could be anything.
If you do decide to blow your motor, and honda says you're SOL, what are you going to do then? Thats a lot of money, all because you heard a noise coming from your engine.

Had the same problem in the hot weather, only did to me when its extremly warm. I work for an infinity Nissan dealer in ottawa, and we tell people the same thing. Try one grade up to 89, it went away for me. It was worse when i had my intake on. Not as much with the airbaox back on
Sounds like bad gas to me.
Are you filling up at the same station each time? I wonder if the high temp's have caused the station's tank to get humid and moisture getting into the fuel? Or, just plain crappy fuel. Try a different station if you haven't already.
Also, go to the parts store and buy some moisture inhibiting fuel additive and throw that in.
Pinging is possibly caused by bad gas, lower octane rating than the engine needs (high compression engines), engine running HOT/lean, need of a tune up/the ignition out of time.
Do a google search on engine pinging, I'm sure you'll get a ton of info.
Don't be stupid and try to blow your engine, thats just a dumb way to cause a bigger headache than you already have (which isn't a big problem right now). If you do want to blow it, drain out all the water and oil and run it full out. Then we'll all laugh when they take the motor apart and find how it blew and deny your warranty. Pinging over time causes your pistons to basically melt, blowing it by over-reving won't do that.

well, first off, make sure the problem has been documented at the dealership, saying that the problem started before the warranty is up, and do what they want you to do, and when they say that the car is out of warranty, and say they wont do anything, or are going to charge you, the problem started while under warranty, and should still be covered, if not, call honda america, i called them on a dealership last week, and i gaurantee they will do something about it.
