Speaker Wire

What is the power handling for each GA Speaker Wire?

8GA Speaker Wire -
10GA Speaker Wire -
12GA Speaker Wire -

what GA speaker wire should I run to my components from the amp?
what Ga speaker wire should I run to my midrange drivers from the amp?
and what GA speaker wire should I wire my subs up with from the amp?

8 gauge will carry like 50 amps
10 gauge like 30
12 around 20

12 is more than enough for your in car speakers. if you have big bass, maybe 10 ga. for the subs. or just use real think wire and tell everyone that you've got 2 gauge going to the subs, even though you don't need it

depends on how long the run of wiring is!!!!

16 guage ran 2 feet can pass quite a bit of power.. 16 guage over 15 feet can't because of it's resistance per foot of wire. Generally 14 guage is the biggest you'll need for cabin speakers..12 is still a good way to go.. Unless you heavy into SPL competition ad are running over a kilowatt to each voice coil on your subs..12 guage is all you'll ever need
