Infinity 692.5i hit trunk 'spring'
Everyone gripes about taking apart the back. It was fun! especialy when you don't know what your doing and you figure it out all on your own. Very fun.
I put the 6x9 in the hole and they didn't go all the way in, and even if they did, when I shut the trunk it would hit the 'springs'.
There is talk about a spacer, but then would the 'rear deck' fit? would the spacer rais the speakers so that the rear deack would not install?
I now have to drive my car around all apart because I have to go to school
O Well,
Thanks

hey you actually can't fit 6x9 in your rear deck..they only fit 6 1/2's that is why you are hitting the spring...i would take back the speakers and just exchange for the 6 1/2's ...they sound just as good as well...so hopefully that solves the problem for ya...
i just removed my trunk springs....
1. i NEVER use my trunk.
2. all it took was:
one pair vice grips
lots of leverage
and a little intuition
(btw i got them out myself [unharmed] and i'm only about 110 lbs. yes i'm male)
i've heard of people talking about a tool needed....well, i didnt need one.
hopefully i will be able to mod them and re-install them the same way i got them out.

Ya I just ended up taking them out.
I am either going to bend them (I tried while they were installed, but couldn't)
or
I will atempt that DIY for struts.
My system sounds really really cool now though.
