ifu havea sub that is 2 ohms instead of 4 ohms, the amount of power your amp willpump into them will increase. Now i am thinking of new sub/s. But everythng i see there is 4 ohm, i have a rockford punch sub, its nice handells upto 1000w, but its 4 ohm, if i can find another sub that is 2 ohm, i would be interested.
can someone tell me what subs out there are 2 ohms ?

A SVC 4 ohm sub is 4 ohms.
A SVC 2 ohm sub is 2 ohms.
A DVC 4 ohm sub can be 2 ohms in parallel or 8 ohms in series.
A DVC 2 ohm sub can be 1 ohms in parallel or 4 ohms in series.
A pair of 4 ohm SVC subs in parallel is 2 ohms.
A pair of 4 ohm SVC subs in series is 8 ohms.
A pair of 2 ohm SVC subs in parallel is 1 ohm.
A pair of 2 ohm SVC subs in series is 4 ohm.
A pair of 4 ohm DVC subs w/ a combo of parallel and series is 4 ohms.
A pair of 4 ohm DVC subs in parallel 1 ohms.
A pair of 4 ohm DVC subs in series 16 ohms.
A pair of 2 ohm DVC subs w/ a combo of parallel and series is 2 ohms.
A pair of 2 ohm DVC subs in parallel 0.5 ohms.
A pair of 2 ohm DVC subs in series 8 ohms.
JL and Rockford both have wiring tutorials on their website.
So you have a Rockford sub that's 4 ohm and want a sub that's 2 ohm.
Learn the JL tutorials on how to wire a sub and you will learn that a dual voice coil 4 ohm sub will run at 2 ohms or 8 ohms by wiring it parallel or in series, respectively.
Also, make sure what your amp is capable of. Is it a class d amp that can be ran at 2 ohms? Or is it a 2 channel amp that you bridged into one channel, meaning the sub you have is just fine.
I'm assuming you have the old school days 4 ohm single voice coil design. Today, you gotta learn the Dual voice coil design, which adds flexiblity to installs, but also adds some knowledge or reading.
i have a sony amp, the 800watt mono pentagon red one.
i woudnt mind sticking to rockford, my sub is a dual coil and i like how it sounds.
so from what i understand, if i wire my one 12inch diffrently, i can actually make it pump more power because the wiring would decrease the impedence from 4 to 2 ohm.
Can someone lead me in the right direction in term of tutorials, as i would love to learn as much as possible about this.

Okay, if you wire your subs like below, you will get 2 ohm resistance and your amp will push out 800 watts.
BUT, can your sub really hand that much RMS power. If you don't have the Power Stage 2 subwoofer, then I wouldn't recommend wiring your sub like that. You're probably wiring your subs in series, which is making the amp see 8 ohms. That means it's pushing out less than 450 watts. Depending on your subwoofer, this is probably good. Your subwoofer may say handle 1000 watts, but that may be peak handling. Look at how much continuous power it can handle.
i have a rockford punch sub, its nice handells upto 1000w

It sounds to me like you are talking "peak" or "max" watts, not RMS. The only wattage number that matters for amps and subs is the RMS number.
Sounds to me like you have an RF HX2 RFD2212 or P312D4, both of which are 500w RMS (I believe), and the Sony XM-DS1300P5 amp, which is 200w@4ohms, 400w@2ohms RMS.
Since your sub is DVC, you can wire it in parallel so that you end up running your amp at 2ohms, giving you 400w RMS to your sub. This is probably what you want to do.
