Rep Power: 0 89 ek hatch no crank but battery power
i have a 89 civic ek hatch and it has battery power but will not crank or anything. when i turn the key the battery craps out and loses power. but if i turn the key off then back on again battery power present but once the key is cranked its gone.
thinking its starter or something like that or hopefully just a wire to check or replace! if someone could give me some advice that'd be much appreciated

If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one
Re: 89 ek hatch no crank but battery power
Sounds like a poor connection or an internal battery fault.
Put a voltmeter on it...hold the leads right on the battery posts (not the clamps or wires) have someone else try to crank it.
If voltage is still ok on the posts but the rest of the car is dead, battery must be ok....move meter lead to the next connection point (cable clamp), then work your way down each cable until you find the power break.
