2002 Civic Cooling System!

I have a 2002 Civic ex which has about 170k on it, I'm third owner. Recently it overheated (should say almost I pulled over before it could) due lack of coolant in system. I can tell it has a leak somewhere but not sure where.

Overflow is empty, I can usually go about two to three days without it being filled up. Now tonight I drove back, no issues but noticed some moisture in the cabin around the ac vents. Along with really bad gas mileage since I noticed the cooling issue Help?!

Most likely a blown head gasket - common issue with these engines. Read up here: https://www.civicforums.com/forums/3...reference.html

Update on cooling issue.

I just got back from auto shop my cooling system was diagnostic was really quick, my radiator has a crack in the aluminum tanks towards the top middle area. No other issues recommend to change thermostat along with radiator, they wanted to charge me 700 for the labor and parts. Is they about normal pricing?

If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one

700? Seems high to me, but IDK.
Got a detailed, itemized breakdown of what all that 700 estimate includes?

Re: 2002 Civic Cooling System!

An OEM radiator for 7th gen hondas are no more than 56$. They're ****ing you over with labor.

So 56$ for a radiator, and 40$ worth of coolant?
They want $700 because you can't do it yourself.
