Rep Power: 0 Catback Exhaust system fitting
So I bought a Spec D Tuning catback exhaust system for my 2005 civic VP coupe. When I bought it, it said it would fit my engine (1.7L D17) but I didn't realize it said was made for EX model. Will it still fit? My dad lifted my car and lined everything up and said it wouldn't but he also won't try to remove everything to even check.

So you have the cat/manifold combo on your car, and the exhaust you bought is made for the D17A2 which has a separate manifold and the cat is under the car?
you could probably make it work by getting an adaptor pipe made up

I think it was made for D17A1, A2 & A3 (at Least that's what it said). I have the muffler, exhaust pipe & resonator. I don't have the exhaust manifold

Do I need like an extra pipe or something? I know I have to buy an exhaust manifold but the pipes don't even seem like they will reach. Sorry if I sound dumb, I'm only 17 and don't have the greatest of knowledge of cars.

Pictures aren't working for me,
Why do you need to buy a new exhaust manifold?
Is yours cracked or something?
So if you have the engine where the exhaust manifold and cat are one big piece you could probably get an exhaust shop to make you a pipe to join them together.
But if you're going to buy a new exhaust manifold (for whatever reason) then you could get the exhaust manifold for the vtec engine (si in canada, ex in the us). It has the manifold and cat as two separate pieces. So if you get that and the cat, the cat back system would probably bolt up at that point. You would just have to extend your o2 sensor wires.

The cat back resonator might rattle on the underbelly of the car (heatshield)
