standalone vs piggy back ecu question

I have a 04 civic si ep3 with the k20a3 motor and I was wondering what would be the difference from a standalone AEM ecu 1250$ vs's a kpro 1400$, anyone care to shed some light?

Re: standalone vs piggy back ecu question

If you want it to run, get the EMS, if you want everything to work with little issue, get K-PRO. If you want to know why, use the search button.

I would say the complete opposite,

K-pro is available for less than EMS, you just need to contact vendors who do not list prices. EMS has more functions and the potential for more overall power, but it's not generally as reliable as k-pro.

Both are standalones, so your thread title doesn't make sense.

No, K-pro is a modified stock ECU.
