Rep Power: 166 Rain-X Headlight Restoration Kit project
So, as most of you know, i tried the toothpaste method a while back on my headlights.. and while that does work pretty good, it's not the best, and im sure we all know that. So, I caved and bought the Rain-X Headlight Restoration Kit and it worked like magic. And it was very easy to do. I took some pics of before and after of my headlights to give you an idea of what it looks like. And just thought I'd share. If you wanna buy it online, their website is: http://www.rainx.com/products/Plasti...Headlight.aspx .. or you can go to autozone or where ever and pick some up.
Anyways, here ya go
there is a little bit of glare on the last pic, but i promise they are clear through and through.. very very happy with the results, and if u wanna spend about $15 to make ur headlights look pretty again, i'd highly recommend this stuff.
ok that's all. hope this helped!!

Nice. I've seen a lot of 7gen civics your colors that have a lot of clearcoat peeling going on. But that's in Central Texas heat. Watch your paint and don't let that get away from you. It got away from me now I'm stuck with a fugly trunk.

i just used plastiX with just a towel and wow! i really just bought it on a off chance that it would work with no sanding involved and to my surprise my headlights are now crystal clear in one step rub on wipe off. ok two steps. So if anyone out there was wondering plastix worked amazing i literaly saw the yellow on my rag and i kept wiping until no more came off. its def worth a try for 6 bucks i paid at wal-mart for those considering a more expensive route like these kits that ive seen at pep boys for up to 60 bucks.

Grab some fishing string, or any thin nylon fishing strong and "saw" it back and forth
Try to rub off as much of the sticky gunk as you can, then claybar will take care of the rest
That's also how u debadge

Idk why but the stock headlights just look better than aftermkt. I can notice my car parked from 400 yards away because of how the amber signal lights shine when the lights are clean. It has a glare that makes it look like they are turned on. People at school even tell me "dude your hazards are on"

dam u should at least wash and WAX the car at least once a month especially if you live in a very sunny area go to walmart and get a bottle of Meguiars Ulimate Liquid Wax its about 20 bucks i love that stuff it has the best UV protection and you can apply it in direct sunlight unlike all the other waxes and it won't leave white marks on black plastic trim its good stuff. and be very careful removing that emblem or sticker whatever that thing is maybe use a blow dryer on it first to heat it up. and remember its GOO-GONE not goof-off. goof-off will eat your paint.

yeah, i sat there and held the rain-x box in one hand and the turtle wax box in the other.. debating on which one to get. the rain-x just seemed to have more/better stuff in it, and i had seen it done before, so i just chose to go with that one. the turtle wax box was about $8 at autozone, so bout the same price it seems as walmart. im sure they all work the same, im just kinda burnt out on turtle wax products.. tryin new things.. ive used turtle wax stuff since i could drive, but ive found a lot of other makers that work 10x better.
speakin of that, what kinda wax does everyone use on their cars? ive used turtle wax on mine in the past, but once again, wanna try a different brand. something that will make the color just pop. cuz i know when mine is freshly cleaned, she just about sparkles in the sun
anyways, let me know what you guys think

Many will tell you,
And so will I.
We stand by Meguair's NXT Gen Tech 2.0 wax
You will not find a better wax for $15, hands down.
My Detailing equipment:
Mother's Claybar kit ($15)
Meguair's Cleaner wax ($5)
Meguair's NXT wax ($15)
Bleche White Tire cleaner ($3)
Turtle Wax Tire Gel ($5)
Foam tire cleaner/applicator ($.97 for pack of 3)
Lots and lots of microfiber towels
I clean my car every 7-10 days (or as needed)
and do a complete detail, wax and shine every 4~6 weeks (or as needed)
My paint is immaculate, as though it just rolled off the showroom floor
...that is until you come close up and see the BILLIONS of rock chips on my front bumper @__@
