Alright, so today on the highway i was driving in 5th and the gear popped out. i placed it back in and after a minute or 2 it popped out again. I can feel the tention on the 5th gear and can even hold it in. but when i hold it in i feel it trying to come back out.

I recently replaced my flywheel and clutch. there is a 9lb flywheel and a stage 1 clutch. Every other gear works fine and stays in.

Is there a quick easy fix? or is this one of those things where im gonna wanna through my jack through my windshield.

There is a TSB about for the 01-02(?). You have to tear the transmission out, take it apart and replace the whole 5th gear set. You need a bearing press to get the gears off of the main shaft and back on. The gear sets have to come from honda. Number 9 ON HERE. If you can't do the work yourself you are probably better off replacing the whole trans.

Oh yeah, you might as well replace the input shaft bearing and throwout bearing while you're at it. Along with any other gears if they are worn out.

^^ True... I had a problem with my 3rd gear in the CL-S, Ended Wit Having To Take A Whole Tranny Out And Changed All My 6 Gears And Clucth And Flywheel, I did everything at once.. My Clucth Was ****ed Up So Was My Flywheel From PowerShifting.. Learned My Lesson...

U will have to replace the 5th gear, If I Was U I Would Replace All 5 Gears At Once...Cuz Sooner Or Later One By One Is Going Go Bad..

Check transmission fluid. My civic was completely out for as long as owned it (136k miles thru 147K).

After a head gasket was changed, the car seemed brand new til I took it on the freeway and it popped out of fifth more and more.

Don't drive it until you get the tranny fluid looked at. Jiffy lube did mine for free they filled it with 2 quarts, told me to come back for my oil change. No more popping out of fifth.

My car feels better than when I got it now, everything's all fixed up and replaced.
