First time on these forums
I recently bought a 2003 ES1 and the previous owner painted half of the front and rear bumper covers with black spray paint. Unfortunately I have no idea what kind of spray paint was used. It looks really bad and I wna take it off but im afraid ill ruin the paint underneath.
Any suggestions?

Goof-off makes a graffiti spray that works on spray paint. You can also try paint thinner very lightly. Follow either up immediately with isoprophyl alcohol to neutralize them.
The problem you have is you don't know what is under the spray paint. People don't usually spray over good clear coat, so you may have very faded paint with no clear coat under it. If that is the case, you probably won't be able to get the spray paint off, or will damage any paint underneath it.
Either way, it doesn't sound like you have much to lose by trying it. If the clear coat is good you will be fine, if not, you can repaint it the way you want.
