2013 civic vs 2006 civic
Hello all.
I am going to be in the market for a new vehicle soon, and wanted a few opinions.
I love my civic, but I also have friends over quite often, my civic is great for up to 2 other people, but once I get higher than that the car seems to be overloaded. I max out my suspension on bumps, and bottom out coming out of my driveway.the car also feels sluggish when accelerating from a stop.
(Yes my friends are a little heavier than most, but with the exception of one it's just because they are very tall)
My civic is a 2006, I was wondering if the 2013's have a higher carrying capacity, and if I would expect the same issues or not.
Currently I am looking at getting an accord for that reason, but if possible a civic would be better, as it is cheaper and I like it's looks better.
Do the 2013's have any more space inside the vehicle, or are they comparably the same size?
Thanks for any and all help!

If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one

Without looking, I'd guess they are very similar. Engine and suspension are pretty much the same design.
Any time you start adding weight to any car, the gas mileage, acceleration, braking, and handling will be affected negatively. These have little engines, it is very noticeable.
Conversely, removing weight will improve all the above.
Simple laws of Physics. You cannot defy them.
I once heard a service writer tell a customer something like "Lady, it's not a cattle truck!"
The tire pressure sticker in the door jamb tells the cargo capacity. What does yours say?
My 12LX Sedan says "the combined weight of passengers and cargo should not exceed (xx kg or) 850 lb." or something close to that.
I'm sure a 13 will be very similar..
If I was at work I could probably find this info easily, but today you are stuck with Google and the Honda sites.
Comparison?

Well that's what I was wondering, I didn't know if they had the same suspension set-up or not, and if the engines were the same.
Surprised to see that from the 2006 to the 2013 there is no increase in horsepower. But then again 140 is more than enough for what the car is designed for, guess there really isn't any need or pressure to increase it, that's what the Si is for.
