my accent just hit 10 years and 120k miles this summer. I love that little car; purchased it new during college and has never given me any major issues.
But I am also 10 years older and am looking for a little bit of an upgrade. I considering a 2010 Civic couple EX-L with 36,300 miles. Its certified used from the dealer (new brakes, 4 new tires, and shaved rotors during the certification process). I would purchase for 16k. (15998 to be exact).
What are you experiences with these cars? Good? Bad? I plan on keeping it for 10 years, assuming its not a trouble maker. Safety and high MPGS are important to me. I have no plans of "hooking" this car up, Im just looking for a cute reliable commuter car.
Also any experience with Honda Care? The dealership is trying to sell me, first a 3rd party warranty (olympic care) for 1600 extra; he only briefly mentioned Honda care and said it would be around $50 less. I will NOT buy a third party warrenty- but may, slightly be interested in Honda Care- is it worth is?
THANKS!

Edit- wanted to add, I am having a friend who owns an autobody shop look over the car this afternoon to make sure its in good condition. I really know nothing about mechanics.

Bought HONDA CERTIFIED 2010 Civic-LX in Jan/2012 from dealer, for matt.
returned personal lease vehicle / 27K miles;
$16K sticker/ purchased for $14,600 after 5 hours of DRAMA / MULLER HONDA, chicago area
Dealer asked if I wanted the 3rd party warranty for $1600/ $50 Deductable / I said no and offered them $900.00. They ACCEPTED my offer, so everything is negotiable.
Am going to the same dealership today to by EXACT same car/MILEAGE/ for chris. They have alot of personal lease returns on the lot.
Am looking for the same salesman/ deal /price.
Absolutely NO trouble with the car so far, but matt has only put on 5K so far
Gas is 30 mpg+/ super EZ to work on / I have already personally changed ATF, Coolant, PS fluid, Oil, External Trans filter and Spark Plugs.......mattandchris

Wow, not budging? Maybe in 2 or 3 months when they more of the 2013's in? It makes me feel good about the 15,998 deal I got on the 2010 EX-L. I did "cave" and buy the honda care for $1175...they dropped it from 1550. Although I am still a little iffy about it and may cancel before my 30 days is up. It will only cover the car for another 90k or 5.5 years.

Saw a guy on craigslist today who is selling a 2012 civic-lx with 1800 miles for $16,000.00. He says the car is too small for him and he is willing to take the monetary hit to unload it.....mattandchris
