Rep Power: 0 2012 oil change frequency
Hi,
How often do I need to do oil change in 2012 honda civic ? Last time, they put honda synthetic oil.
I have drove almost 3400 miles after they did my last oil change.
I am going for a trip and I will be driving about 500 miles in a day for 2 days. Do I need to do oil change before that or I can do oil change later after my trip ?
Your suggestions will be highly appreciated.
How often do i need to do oil change usually ?
Thank you

What's it say in the owners manual?
With synthetic you can easily go 10k miles.
For my 01 it says 5k for severe driving and 10k for regular (and that's with 2001 non synthetic oil).

Read all about the maintenance minder system.
If used properly, it will let you know when it is time to change the oil, rotate tires, replace filters, and all the rest of the maintenance items.
Depending on how you drive, I have seen the minder allow people to go anywhere from 4000 miles to 12,000 miles. As long as proper quality oil is used, this sort of mileage is perfectly acceptable.
The only thing you as a user needs to do is check the oil level (and the other fluids as per the manual) every now and then.
Honda says maximum of one year for an oil change if you don't drive enough miles to have the minder come up.
Again, RTFM.
