I've been having this intermittent problem with my 07 civic. Occasionally the engine light come on and when it does, cruise control doesn't work and the engine governs at 3500rpm. I brought it into the shop before it became intermittent and they said it was an oil pressure sensor and changed it but due to the fact that it is intermittent, I haven't brought it back in haha.

Thanks!!

Re: Governing

What's the fault code? (The actual code number, not your description.)

Checked and filled oil level? Is/was it low?

Oil is good. I've had a few routine oil changes. I don't have a code reader so I'm not sure what it is. But sometomes, I'll turn the car on and it will run perfect - no check engine light, cruise control working etc.

Re: Governing

Cruise is disabled when there's certain fault codes, that's normal.

Report back with more info when you can get the codes read?
