MY FIRST CIVIC!! w/ pics and story.

Ok I am 17 I got my first civic when I was 15. I spent so much time and money on it. I cheerished the baby. When I was driving home from buying the civic a brand new engine/tranny/and turbo a lady T-boned me my and wrapped my car around a pole I cried and it depressed me alot. You may laugh but I spent on average 6 hours a day working on my car and tuning it for 6 months straight. She was my pride and joy.I worked at a job since I was 14 and since I was ten I saved up money to have the fastest civic when I got it I had 19,800$ and I loved the 98 civic ex I didn't want an SI. You forgot to add,

FOGGY PASSENGER HEADLIGHT.

J/K man.

I don't know. Not my cup of tea, way too flashy IMO. It looks like you've either put a lot of work into, or paid someone a lot of cash to put a lot of work into it. Thank you for at least owning the parts that the stickers go to.

Brace yourself cuz other folks will probably not be as politically correct as I'm being.

Okay... Nine go fast stickers..... with no additional gain from reposts... that will come to a total of 45 horsepower. A car that still only has 127 hp... priceless.

Whats the deal man... You asked to help install with only the nos setup?

As a whole I don't like the car. You have nice rims(ironically from an si which you did not want to buy) Its got too much 'look at me police officer, I have to try really hard to break the speed limit so please have an excuse to pull me over and give me a ticket' The hood is disgusting and the park bench on the back is unacceptable. Please stay away from making our cars look like that. It gives us a bad reputation.

There are my two cents. Did you ask for them? No. But you got them any way because someone needs to set you straight.

haha maybe your not getting it. I was 16. now when you were 16 what did you have? a POS geo metro? or maybe something else IDK I put stickers on my car to support what I used, I liked the hood. Why? because stuck up, too good people like you would never buy it. I like what I did with it IT WAS MY car not yours. The paint I loved it i love pearl blue It's my favorite color. You don't buy a honda civic SOHC to go fast. My intentions where to keep it a showie car until I could muster up some more cash for the new engine which was a b18c1 motor and greddy turbo. Now when you were sixteen how much of your life did you dump in your car? probably not enough you may be older than me but you have no appreciation for hard labor.

Re: MY FIRST CIVIC!! w/ pics and story.

this thread makes my brain hurt. the pics made my eyes hurt.

i saw this thread, and thought it was a joke. that some existing member took some pics of a ricemobile, and decided to create a new user name and mess with people. i'm beginning to fear that this is not the case.

Not my cup of tea, but props for the hard work and labor that was put into it. It seems like nobody can respect that these days, since everybody is so worried about what other peoples car looks like rather than their own.

Re: MY FIRST CIVIC!! w/ pics and story.

People it's a show car. he spent time & money on his car to make it look the way he wanted it to look. It's not my taste either but he at least doesn't have some cheap Pep Boy mods & APC stickers.

imo, get some nice rims, 18's or 19's. I don't like the headlights, tail lights, or spoiler.

Cleared out headlights or OEM black-housing headlights would look nice. 99/00civic tail lights or smoked tail lights would look nice too.

carbon fiber hood or oem hood

Props on the hard work & it's time to work on the interior

You know what I just re-read your post and saw this:

And I realized that this car has gone the way of "Dumb bitch wasn't paying attention and totaled my car", and you no longer have it. I didn't really read the story, just looked at the mod list and pictures.

That sucks to have poured a whole lot of time, effort, skin, and blood into the car to have some bimbo ruin everything because she was thinking of that 2 for 1 sale at Krispy Kreme. I know I would go absolutely ballistic if anything happened to my baby. That sucks, but at least you know what looks good and what doesn't now and you'll have gotten that Altezza taste off your tongue.

Re: MY FIRST CIVIC!! w/ pics and story.

You said you saved up to have the fastest Civic, and then you made another post saying you didn't buy it to be fast, you kept it showie (WTF?) until you got the money.

Then you listed all the things in your modifications list with "professional install" next to them and then made another post saying the only thing people helped you with was the NOS.

I don't mean to mess with you but it sounds like you did absolutely no research on any of this stuff, you just bought what you saw on TV. I don't say bad things about NOS, it's a great product, but it sounds like if I asked you about wet kits and dry kits, you'd have a confused look on your face. Here's a rundown of what I think of your car, and I'm real lenient because I'm the rare exception that likes the flashy stuff.

wing - I actually like it
headlights - like them too
hood - I kinda like it......you're pushing it though. But it looks terrible simply because it doesn't close properly.
interior painted pieces - terrible
diamond plated floor mats - terrible
hood pins - terrible and pointless
fender grilles - like them
front bumper - terrible
rest of kit - seems okay
fog light placement - terrible
wire hanging down under car - terrible
noisy exhaust just to get attention - terrible

You've got a passion for cars which I give you credit for but my advice is to not reject criticism when you post your car on a forum. You ask opinions and you can't control what you get. If people hate it then don't change your story to sound like you're not done or it's going to get better. And don't tell people their opinion doesn't matter. Just don't sweat it and drive the **** out of your car the way you want without breaking laws.

I meant by I kept it showie until I could make it fast if you read before it got totaled I just bought the B18c1 motor and tranny with a greddy turbo

the professional install was that I did exactly how the guy at the customs shop down the road from me told me.

You had $19k .... Buy the SI. You could have done everything you did on the ex to the SI and already had a good platform for making power. "Showie" cars scream rice to me.

HMMMMMM Lets see. I was sixteen. That means I was still living at home. Therefore I had many cars to wrench on. Most of my time was spent on a '77 Land Cruiser. I am comfortable with how much of my life I have dumped into my civic. Between the civic and Land Cruiser I have a very good mechanical understanding of how carbureted and fuel injected cars work.

In the big scheme of things I am not much older than you are. You have never met me and you have no knowledge of my work ethic. I'd have a little respect for yours if you put some effort into it. Anybody can bolt up and exhaust and then leave the body work for the professionals. There are guys on this site who are painting their civics themselves. If you truly have averaged six hours a day working on your car then that amount of time would have truly yielded results. You did not even fit the after market body panels. How much work have you truly done on your civic?

I didn't want the SI because I wanted to start off of the bottom line and work up. I work at AAA because of this car. I got a complete understanding with it. Thank you for at least liking the color. and also this wasn't my only car I had a 1974 ford maverick with a 302 in it so i understand the carb too.

Sorry for being short with you earlier about this just i got defensive about something thats history. Well yeah it may be riced out but I never gave it a bad name. never one ticket and i never raced it. street racing is lame

Wow yea wow just threw up in my mouth again damn rice does it to me everytime. if u went to the same high school i do u would have probably had the following stolen: ur nos, header, intake, wheels, tires, head unit, and sub. Everything else would have had a baseball bat taken to it because its worth about the same as fake dog **** made in china, containing lead to poison little children.

Re: MY FIRST CIVIC!! w/ pics and story.

I give u props for doing the work and having the patience to save the money to do all that stuff..personally with the b18 and turbo i wud really like the car except for a few things..the hood doesn't suit a civic,i wud have got a carbon fibre 1 and the front kit/bumper just a little too overkill, although i do like kits myself, especially with a big intercooler in the front..also i wudnt have put that spoiler i wud get the spoiler from a jdm honda integra type r, the dc2, and cut it shorter, and i wudnt have used those tailights either..but thats just my taste.
I rate u for the work and its not my car so im not gonna tell u what 2 do, thats just my opinions dont take offence from it..and i really feel ur pain about the accident..

Why don't you add some power to the new civic. You have done the 'showie car' already. Now do the power car.

Sorry for being short with you earlier about this just i got defensive about something thats history. Well yeah it may be riced out but I never gave it a bad name. never one ticket and i never raced it. street racing is lame
Why would you put nitrous in a car you don't race? That's like putting an engine in a car you don't drive.

You condone stealing things that you don't like?

Re: MY FIRST CIVIC!! w/ pics and story.

i really dont want to say it.. but i think this is all b.s.

i know i know.. i have noo reason to assume anything or jump to any conclusions but this is just buggin me.

you did this all when you were 16.. and you kept saying oh thats back when i was 16 blah blah.. but ur only 17 now.. um.. ok? you just joined up and this just seems like HEY LOOK AT ME I WANT ATTENTION!!! im just gona go around cardomain.com and find some really fast n furious civic and look up all his parts just by reading the stickers and talk about how i want a showcar and this n this n that and then cover ur *** by saying u got it in a wreck or sum whatever... if i get this right.. u got t-boned after u bought the car leaving the dealership? but it was all hooked up..by u.. some how..i duno maybe i just read it wrong.. but i really really dont beleive this story. if you want the attention you sure got it.. but dont think this makes you a big shot around here or gives u some kind of rep as "you know what your talking about".

thats all i have to say.. and yea like that one guy said.. you dont know who the hell is "too good" around here or about anybodys work ethic.. so please.

Re: MY FIRST CIVIC!! w/ pics and story.

i got the same impression that you were driving home from the dealership. but anyway, if you did the work, i applaud the effort. but i HATE the hood. Very nice effort, very nice paint. But for a first car, kids around here have $30,000 Volvo's, souped up Bimmers, etc. But with $20,000 , i think i would have saved for college or bought a much nicer car like a Impreza WRX...
