there is a setting to enable or disable the tach/RPM guage,

play around on your control panel where the radio is.....i have seen the setting before, but cant remember exactly how i got there

tires are always over inflated at the factory,

my tires were over 40 PSI when i picked up my 2018 civic,

i go by the sticker in the drivers door which is 32 PSI cold,

I did it with standard sockets and extensions and breaker bar the exact same way you did.....but everything was 1/2 inch drive not 3/8



i think i used a deep socket....but its been awhile

i temporarily install the crank pulley, and use the crank holding tool to rotate the crank

you valves are opening and closing in a certain sequence depending on the position of the crank,

the only time all 4 valves are closed completely in the same cylinder is when that piston is at TDC...

i normally loosen the cam bolt before i take the timing belt off, that holds it still,

i remember reading somewhere that there is a spot near the sprocket to insert a screwdriver to hold it still,...

i wouldnt say its 100% conclusive,

its possible somebody at some point in time poured another substance (other then coolant) into your rad or overflow

i would suggest you just replace the following items,

- valve cover gasket
- cam end plug
- EGR gasket

those are really the only possibilities, they are all cheap too

oh....when you said right side of the engine, i thought you meant the timing belt side,

you most likely need a new cam plug seal,

its a round plastic plug at the left end of the cam,

rotors.....

i had code P1457 before, my problem was the valve in the pictures,

i removed the screws by grabbing the head with vice grips and turning them, you will never do it with a screw driver

yes im in canada,

i had my 2005 since brand new....was an excellent car and i was a bit sad to see her go, i sold her last november with about 350,000 kms

but im loving my new 2018 :)

if your spark plug seals were leaking, your spark plug holes would be filling up with oil, i dont think those are your problem,

maybe take a pic of the leak?

you dont need to replace the rubber seal in the pic above as ezone stated, unless its damaged or broken, its only a dust seal,

the spark plug oil seals go into the valve cover around each hole...

the silicone applied to the 4 spots/corners is still nessessary, even if you have a clean surface, its needed because the gasket can not seal a 90 degree corner like that, your going to have an oil...

i have always used the "fork" type tool for ball joint removal.

i remove the ball joint nut, then i put my hydralic jack underneath the threaded end of the ball joint and jack it up a few inches...

i have never heard of changing only the boot, you might as well replace the complete ball joints while your at it,

heck, if your unsure of how many miles are on the wheel bearings, i would replace...

the $1000 would best be spent on maintanance on a car that old,

replace your timing belt, water pump, coolant, and tranny fluid if you dont know when any of that was done last,

save the rest...
