Parking ticket in Toronto

I got a parking ticket last night in Toronto, on Saulter St, found out too late that a permit is required from 12-9 AM (I was at the Nightwish concert). Being that I was playing the role of the foreigner, do I have to pay it?, and I don't pay it will they come looking for their money me?

you may get your license suspended, just pay it, its only a parking ticket

lol how much are parking tickets up there? the ones in my town are 5 bucks!
