nice.

burnhard88 09-04-2006 09:59 PM

my car is exactly like that... minus the kit and rims look pretty simimlar but not 100% for sure

DDragon7 09-04-2006 10:44 PM

Nice, so what's that K20 putting out?

burnhard88 09-05-2006 01:17 AM

they never showed any results... lol

EŽik 09-05-2006 03:26 PM

Dude, a K20 would be sick. A K20 with boost would be sicker.

In about 5 more years I'll be dumping a K20 in the EM2. But not sooner.

lol.. i'm stuck on that path now whether i should go big and get the engine that chris is gettin installed, or if i should just build the engine up and turbo it... all i'm really lookin for is around 180-200 whp... something that has nice, torquey feeling... haha... i was even scared when i was goin 2 bills when i was on my 15's, haha

A frankenstein - k24/k20 setup would probably be even better for boost too Erik.

In any event, that person's dyno in May was;

179 whp @ 7810 rpm
118 lb/tq @ 7050 rpm

I was slightly surprised by the numbers though he's been told to change the headers and air intake for better response (Currently running DC 4-2-1 and AEM SR). With a little more tuning he probably could have gotten over 185 that day, but time is money as they say. And no, I do not know what type of dyno it was.. but maybe you can tell from the video

As for your desires Charles, probably better really building your block and boosting it - at least for that torquey feeling.

If I have the money in the years to come, that is DEFINATELY something I will look into. I have a huge article on that EXACT frankenstein setup! I'll have to show you it some time. Although it I get the power out of that engine that I want STOCK I'll run N/A. But rest assured, I've been doing some thinking on the whole new car thing, and I'll swap engines before buying a new car any day.

That dyno looked like some cheap portable one. I'm sure he would have got better readings if he was on a stationary unit.

I guess that video would be impressive with sound  I was sitting here expecting the car to just take off or something.

burnhard88 09-08-2006 09:28 AM

karim: that's my plan... down the road is to build the engine with stronger internals then boost it... i remember being in julian/karyn's car i think when it was runnin 4 psi and i was like... *droool*... LOL... :p
