might want to return that windshield washer heater! It's recalled due to over-heating...don't remember who it was that purchased it but I remember someone mentioning the dangers of over-heating in a thread. "Consumer Alerts Motomaster Hotwash Windshield Washer Fluid Heater (March 7, 20006) Canadian Tire is voluntarily recalling the Motomaster Hotwash Windshield Washer Fluid Heater. The company says a manufacturing defect poses a potential safety issue. Consumers can identify defective units by referring to the outer casing of the product. If the product contains the words 'patent pending' they are not defective and are not included in this recall. The product number is 21-0020-2. While Canadian Tire has not been notified of any injuries, the retailer has received eleven reports of smoke coming from the units. You can reach Canadian Tire at 1-866-670-9962" LINK |
nuts my dad has one. it drained his battery. he hates it. don't buy one. |
It was a stupid invention anyways IMO. |
i think it's a good idea in theory...they just didn't execute on it as good as they could have. some cars are getting this stock now. |
Yeah but people bought them thinking they worked. Only think they managed to do was like Andrew said drain your battery and your wallet. And besides liquid only passes by the heating element for a short time, not enough to significantly raise the temperature of the windshield washing fluid. |
exactly. good idea in theory...but in practise, they failed to execute. b1tches!!! |
I hate to say I told you so, BUT.... I TOLD YOU SO!! http://www.7thgencivic.com/forums/sh...80&postcount=3 ^^ taken from the original thread back on December 23rd..lol |

I wonder how many of those things Canadian Tire actually sold???? |
I bought it but couldn't find a place to put it so I threw it in a corner. Now who's the fcker that told me to install inside the car. |
well even if it did not cause those problems.. you would have to replace the rubber lines often because of the quick temperature changes from -something to +60c.. there is bound to be some cracks in the lines... |
:haha: |
